K8 Campus Scholar Enrichment - MS Chess
Our Middle School Chess club is ON FIRE with 22 sharp scholars battling it out! The class is filled with intense matches and tournament-style showdowns. It's fun to see the focus and competition!
Good morning CLA Families! Just a reminder that Monday, April 7th is an asynchronous day for students and a Teacher Workday for staff. Students do not report to campuses, but will complete work from home like they would on a Friday.
We invite all CLA families to join our Family Advisory Committee (FAC). The FAC is a collaborative group that meets in October, December, February, and April to discuss school improvement goals and charter school advocacy at the local and state levels. We will be meeting on Tuesday, April 8th at 5pm at the High School Campus (176 Salmon Way, White City)

Staff Spotlight - Ms. Mann, Kitchen Manager K8
Ms. Mann has been serving Crater Lake Academy in the role of Kitchen Manager for the last two years. Ms. Mann has an elevated dedication and passion for feeding CLA Explorers quality meals each day. She adds an extra sprinkle of love in all her dishes and scholars truly enjoy what she prepares. CLA is fortunate to have someone like Laurie Mann serving scholars each and every day!

CLA High School - Coast Field Trip (10th Grade Only)
Our 10th-grade field trip to the California coast immerses students in the diverse ecosystems of Redwood National Forest and Pebble Beach. We'll explore the intricate ecology of towering redwoods, examining their role in the coastal environment and the unique biodiversity they support. Students will then transition to the ocean's edge at Pebble Beach, conducting hands-on investigations of marine biology and the dynamic interactions within the intertidal zone, fostering a deeper understanding of coastal ecosystems.

CLA High School Industry Tour - Imani School of Cosmetology
Imani School of Cosmetology provides comprehensive training in hair, skin, and nail care, equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers in the beauty industry. Their curriculum focuses on both practical application and theoretical understanding, preparing graduates for licensing and professional excellence. Our scholars have the opportunity to see this in action through this industry tour!

CLA High School - Southern Oregon Envirothon
The Southern Oregon Envirothon is a regional, hands-on competition that challenges high school students' knowledge of natural resources. Teams engage in tests covering aquatic ecology, soils, forestry, wildlife, and a current environmental issue. This event aims to foster critical thinking, enhance environmental knowledge, and inspire future stewards of the land, preparing students for the statewide Oregon Envirothon. Mrs. Smith is the Resource Teacher at both our K8 and High School campuses. She has a giant heart for serving scholars ---her speciality is finding how each individual student learns and customizing learning to fit their needs. She is a deep thinker, problem solver, and a highly-valued member of the CLA team!

Staff Spotlight - Whitney DeWolf, Business Operations and HR Manager
Working at CLA has allowed me to grow in my career and push myself. I am grateful for the opportunity I've been given to learn and be a part of an organization that is constantly growing to make a difference for our students and families. Being able to make an impact on student's lives and watch them develop is so rewarding!
Literacy Night - February 27th 5-6:30pm
The K8 Campus Annual "Literacy Night" will be taking place on February 27th at 5:00pm! Not only is our campus excited for this event, but we will host some Community Partners on site to engage with scholars and share in their joy of literacy as well. We cannot wait to share this experience with our families!
