CLA Staff Spotlight - Ms. McCoy
This month, we are thrilled to spotlight Ms. McCoy, a passionate Language Arts teacher at CLA whose love for literacy and literature shines through every lesson. Growing up in Southern Oregon, Ms. McCoy discovered her interest in education after a high school job shadow in a classroom sparked her curiosity. Her journey has taken her as far as Nebraska, where her experiences reinforced her decision to pursue teaching. Over the years, she has developed a special interest in working with high school students, enjoying the unique blend of academia, philosophy, and history that she can explore with them.

Navigator Scholar Spotlight - Ethyn W.
Ethyn is currently pursuing multiple significant goals that reflect both academic excellence and personal growth. At the top of the list of goals is the completion of an associate’s degree program at Rogue Community College! After years of consistent effort, Ethyn has completed 70 out of the 90 credits required, demonstrating both persistence and a commitment to higher education.
K-8 Explorer Winter Spirit Week - December 15th to 18th
A heartfelt thank you to Retired Captain Dennis Jordan and Fire District #3 for presenting our November Career Chat. Our scholars thoroughly enjoyed learning about the wide range of careers within the fire service and the many pathways available to pursue them. The hands-on fire truck tour was a highlight, sparking curiosity and excitement, and our scholars asked many thoughtful questions thanks to the engaging and welcoming visit. We are grateful for your time, your expertise, and your commitment to inspiring our future leaders. Thank you for making this month’s Career Chat such a memorable experience!

We are thrilled to recognize Mrs. Kelley, our Explorer Campus Physical Education & Health Teacher. Mrs. Kelley joined our CLA this year with valuable experience teaching at the middle school level, and has quickly become an incredible asset to our team. She is crafty, creative, and deeply passionate about the scholars she serves. This year, she has poured tremendous energy not only into her PE courses but also into bringing seasonal celebrations to life through thoughtful decorations and experiences for our scholars. We are grateful for her dedication, her heart, and the vibrant spirit she brings to our campus. Thank you for being part of the CLA Team Mrs. Kelley!

Elijah shows respect to everyone around him, listens carefully, works hard, and always wants to help clean up. On top of all that, Elijah is silly and loves to laugh.
