CLA Family Advisory Committee meeting Tuesday, April 14th at 5pm at our K-8 Explorer Campus. We would like to invite families and scholars that want to learn more about things happening at CLA and how you can get involved.

Scholar Spotlight - Luke S.
Luke exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding scholar: ambitious, thoughtful, and engaged. As a member of the Pathways Academy, he has already earned over 20 credits toward his Associate’s Degree at Rogue Community College, all while cultivating his talents as a musician. Whether practicing piano, mastering classic melodies, or repairing and learning new techniques on his electric guitar, Luke approaches music with the same curiosity and dedication he brings to his academics.
In the classroom, Luke thrives in Psychology, exploring the complexities of the human mind and how people respond to daily life. He is especially motivated by his interest in a potential career in Human Resources, eager to apply his understanding of people and behavior to real-world challenges.

Crater Lake Academy is thrilled announce our partnership with Engage Trade School for the upcoming school year!
At CLA, a diploma is just the baseline. Through our Every Student Graduates+ mission, we’re combining our CTE expertise with Engage Trade School’s resources and opportunities to ensure our scholars leave with more than just a diploma. They’re leaving with hands-on experience, industry connections, and a concrete plan for what comes next.

CLA K-8 Pathfinder Program -
Our scholars put on their engineering hats to tackle the classic Egg Drop Challenge. From parachutes to padding, they designed custom devices to survive a plunge from the second story. Seeing a 52% success rate was amazing, but watching the students analyze their designs post-drop was even better.

Explorer Spotlights - Rian and Norah
Congratulations to Rian, representing Explorer Middle School, and Norah, representing Explorer Elementary! Both scholars are actively living their “+” by pursuing passions and putting in extra effort beyond the school day.
Rian stays busy competing in several activities, with his most recent accomplishment being the earning of his black belt in mixed martial arts. Norah is also living her “+” as she dedicates many hours each week to her passion for dance, and most recently performed in Portland during a Blazer game.
Both scholars were recognized by the Charter Board at the March board meeting for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to pursuing excellence beyond the classroom. We are proud of them both!

Staff Spotlight - Ms. Becky
Whether she’s caring for our campus as the custodian or serving customers in the community, you’ll usually find Ms. Graham working with youth, and that’s exactly how she likes it. She takes pride in keeping the school clean, welcoming, and ready for students each day. She enjoys building connections and being a positive presence in their lives. When she’s not at work, Ms. Graham loves spending time outdoors fishing and crabbing at the beach, four-wheeling in the woods, and soaking up the sunshine whenever she can.
